Learn ancient yoga breathing techniques and meditation to quiet the mind, reduce stress, and improve both respiratory and cardiovascular systems in the body.

Prana (vital life force) yama (control of) is the regulation of the breath. It is a method which harmonizes the body/mind. During this class, we will begin with a guided relaxation and then explore various forms of pranayama such as Ujjayi (ocean sounding breath), Dirgha (three part breath), Nadi Shodhana (comfortable, alternate nostril breath), Anuloma Viloma (alternate nostril breath), Kapalabhati (skull shining breath), Bhastrika (bellows breath), Sitali (cooling breath) and Sitkari (sound producing breath). The benefits of meditation and this type of oxygenating breathwork include: muscle flexibility, improves respiratory and cardiovascular activity, cellular reproduction and/or repair, reduces stress and anxiety levels and assists with the mind/body/spirit connection. $30/person

Do you have pain or discomfort in your back and/or shoulders? Even if it is not a direct result of practicing yoga, Cathy is the answer you've been looking for!
Cathy Brown recently completed her 500 hour therapeutic yoga teacher training in Asheville, NC. Cathy focuses her teachings on the entire body and how each part makes the whole, combining vinyasa, yin and aerial styles of yoga. Because the benefit to the body is of utmost importance, Cathy really enjoys helping students to deepen their understanding of yoga, keeping them committed to their practice and ultimately guiding them through the healing process. Often, students have minor injuries or pains that they try to power through. Instead, Cathy teaches these students how to stop, slow and sometimes reverse the damage.
Cathy is a Registered Yoga Teacher RYT through the Yoga Alliance. She completed 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at The Studio for Yoga and More in Moorestown, NJ, under the instruction of Experienced Yoga Teacher, Rochelle Edmondson. Her aerial yoga experience began with Heather at the Kaya studio when it first opened was part of the first graduating class for Aerial Yoga Teacher Training.

A sumptuous Yin yoga experience where soothing asana practice is elongated with massage, breath work and stretches. Imagine getting a foot-rub while resting in legs-up-the-wall or deepening your forward bend with an assisted low back stretch. Class includes warm-up, pranayama, gentle floor postures, and lengthy wall stretches. Look forward to our qualified instructors to bring in some muscle stretching, slow easy compression on large muscle groups, and generous amounts of time in poses to let the muscles and connective tissue stretch and relax.
